Intro
I would consider my process to architecture to be more old school. While I value and appreciate the technical advance in technology, frequently use software such as CAD, Revit and and Sketchup, employ rendering programs for final touches, my bread and butter is pencil and paper. To me, the mind muscle connect between pencil and brain is quicker, fluid and more intuitive.
Architecture is ultimately a discipline of taking ideas and bring them through the practical real world boundaries such as building codes, zoning codes, physics and structure and life safety ramifications. The road is tough and hard but the payoff to see the idea go for, drawings to reality is worth the grind.

We created three different prototypes and models for the design of luxury apartments and hotel for a real estate client out of New York. The 3D models created a easily understood visual for the clients to understand the massing of the options
The two options on the left were developed with a the program rhino to create fluid free-flowing forms indictive of futuristic designs. The option on the right, which was eventually chosen by the client incorporates two interlocking arches

As with the 5th and Lafayette Tower, the design team provided three options for the client to chose. Because the economic and simplicity of the 'C' form this option was quickly selected and put through the ringer, as the team put together Skin options for the facade, elevations sketches and rendering to see how the building would look from the outside.
